![]() Completely stuck and need a hint? You can literally ask for help and in true god-like fashion, the room fills with the voice of Mike, the owner, directing you to the next clue (or, in our case, replacing a recently discovered key, because a child misplaced it and could not find it). At Mindtrix, the goal is to “challenge your mind, not your phobias.” I hate to be frightened, so this was a relief. Younger children could also choose your team name. Our teen and tween solved as many of the puzzles as we did, but if your kids are too young to solve, they could be the ones who get to unlock, open, press buttons, etc. Every room has something tricky enough to require an adult, and easy enough for a child to discover, though they are designed with teens and adults in mind. If your kid is old enough to enjoy the Harry Potter books, they’re old enough to enjoy the escape rooms at Mindtrix. All those years of knowing the exact location of all my family’s belongings finally paid off. To my surprise and delight, my mom-powered finding skills were a huge asset in solving puzzles. ![]() I don’t like timers, I don’t like pressure, and I’d much rather read a book or solve a crossword. Let me know if you want any more info, I tried to hold back here.We were definitely not locked in the room. The host very well could be a real cultist, and this very well could be a real test. The fact that you go to an out of the way building, with not much around it, and attempt to break into a secret society, makes this room the most realistic I've ever been to. The use of low tech, physics based puzzles makes this a solid room by any standards. I love how there's no keys, very few locks, lots of electronic to play with.Ħ) The Ritual Room is my six favorite because I've done it more than once. It might be difficult for two players due to physical logistics (no spoilers).ĥ) Alien Zoo is my fifth favorite room because, who doesn't like the idea of being abducted by aliens. But I really liked the atmosphere, the story, and so many puzzles I've never heard of. It's the only scary room I've ever done before, which was interesting. The room smells a bit like a jungle, and gets hotter as time goes on, great immersion.Ĥ) Malice Manor is my fourth favorite because of it's uniqueness. It has some great props, and lots of real-world-type puzzles.ģ) Jungle Ransom is my third favorite, because it's small and intimate. I love the scenery, and especially how they veiled the science of the puzzles as magic! Lots of unique puzzles, and the only room I didn't complete on time.Ģ) The Magician's Menagerie is my second favorite because it's their second most challenging room, and I've always had a thing for stage magicians. If you have any other questions, don't hesitate to ask.ġ) The Wizard's Lair is by far their most challenging room, and is also my favorite. ![]() I would definitely recommend Jungle Ransom for 2 players, as the room is quite small and intimate! There was a live actor in the room, who never distracted, but always reminded you of the tasks at hand (but who know's who your host will be). Assasin's Deadly Game is one of the most life-like escape rooms I've ever done. Their secret's of Niburu room is good, but has 1 puzzle that forces you to decode ancient Sumarian text (I believe), and that part took nearly half of the room time using 2 people. They do have a private room that's just 45 minutes, entitled House of Darkness. ![]()
